Materials

Flax (100%)

Flax is one of the longest used natural materials. It uses less water and chemicals to process it, so it is more environmentally friendly than cotton. Linen fabric is a sustainable material, it does not attract or absorb dust, so it does not have to be washed as often as cotton, it is paved and durable, it holds its shape very well. Clothes for flax will last you a long time. Flax is a hypoallergenic material that dissipates heat and moisture well. You will appreciate its breathability in the summer months, when it provides protection against UV radiation.

Why prefer linen clothing and bedding?

  • linen is 30-50% stronger than cotton
  • linen products are extremely resistant to mechanical damage and hardly thin out
  • linen fibres have a smooth texture that reduces the adhesion of dust, dust mites and bacteria
  • linen is an ideal hypoallergenic material, it does not cause any allergic reactions and resists mould and mites well
  • the smooth texture makes it easier to loosen dirt during washing
  • flax fibre has a multiply higher moisture absorption capacity and dries faster than other natural fabrics
  • linen has a pleasant cooling feel, which is used in summer clothing and bed linen
  • unlike cotton, we can grow and process flax directly in Europe

Benefits and characteristics

Made in EU

By purchasing this product, you support manufacturers in the European Union. We bring our customers quality products from new and traditional manufacturers in Europe. You can also support the European economy.

Material made in the EU

EU-made material was used to make this product. We are looking for partners who can not only sew products in Europe, but also use local fabric manufacturers. European manufacturers know that they cannot compete with cheap Asian producers on price and must offer quality products that customers can appreciate. We focus on products that leave the smallest possible ecological footprint. Local fabric manufacturers must meet strict European environmental requirements in their production. At the same time, the transport of products across half the globe is eliminated. Did you know that maritime transport is one of the biggest air pollutants?

Sustainable materials

Made from materials that have been grown and processed with respect for nature, man and the environment.

Ecological product

The product is environmentally friendly.

Sensitive

This product is suitable for allergy sufferers or people with sensitive skin.

Linen bedding

We use sanforized and softened linen fabrics for our bed linen and sheets. These fabrics have already undergone a pre-shrinking process and no further shrinkage occurs during subsequent washing. However, the usual slight shrinkage as with other natural materials is possible, especially when high washing temperatures are used. Softened linen no longer needs to be washed and softened before use. Its surface texture is already softened and pleasant to the touch.

Why linen bed linen?

  • linen sheets have very high durability and strength
  • thanks to their exceptional mechanical resistance, linen bed linen hardly ages
  • linen fibres are smooth and do not have a scalloped and flaky surface like cotton
  • this smooth structure significantly reduces the adhesion of dust, lint and bacteria on the surface of the fibres
  • human sweat does not disturb the structure of the flax fibre and sweat does not leave any 'maps' on the fabric when sweating
  • linen is suitable for allergy sufferers and people with sensitive skin
  • linen has a high moisture absorption capacity, but can dry much faster than cotton
  • linen fabric is "cool to the touch" and suitable for summer bedding and sheets
  • linen does not lose its strength over time, does not thin or wash out

Washing linen bedding

  • when washing, prefer natural detergents (soap nuts, vegetable oil soaps, etc.)
  • Always wash linen fabrics separately, do not combine washing batches with other types of materials
  • do not use any chemical detergents or bleaches which may damage the structure of the fibre
  • drying should be done on a line and the linen should be properly turned off and ironed - this will save you a lot of work when ironing
  • tumble drying the linen is fine, but the linen will be very wrinkled
  • we recommend washing linen at lower temperatures around 40ºC - the smooth structure of linen fibre allows for easier release of dirt than e.g. cotton
  • linen fabrics are very durable and can be ironed - but beware that the higher the washing temperature, the higher the shrinkage of the material may be
  • with each wash, the linen gently softens and its surface texture becomes softer - therefore, the longer you use the linen, the softer the texture becomes

Ironing linen

  • use the maximum temperature when ironing - linen is extremely resistant to high temperatures, which will achieve better fibre alignment
  • Always dampen the linen before ironing

Environmental aspects of using linen

  • linen is a traditional European crop used for fabric production for thousands of years
  • Increasing flax production will leave less space for yellow rapeseed fields
  • we can not only grow flax in Europe, but also process it into quality fabrics and final products
  • flax linen is several times more durable than cotton alternatives
  • linen fabrics are biodegradable and compostable
  • the smooth fibre structure allows the use of lower washing temperatures and saving detergents
