Wool is an animal fiber that can be spun into yarn or fabric. It is most commonly associated with sheep’s wool, but can be also wool from other animals. Wool has many benefits over other fibers. It is warm, absorbent, fire-resistant, durable and clothing produce from wool is odorless. The use of wool dates back to the Stone Age, when early humans first began domesticating sheep. Sheep were originally bred for their meat and milk, but early humans quickly realized that their fleece could be used to make clothing and blankets. The use of wool spread throughout the world as different cultures developed their own methods of spinning and weaving it into fabric. Today, wool is still widely used in a variety of applications. It is commonly used in winter clothing because it insulates against cold weather better than any other fiber. Woolen fabrics are also popular for suits, slacks, coats, and dresses due to their wrinkle-resistance and durability.
THERMOlite® is a material made of special polyester hollow fibers. It has a huge air capacity, which prevents heat from escaping from inside the knitwear, and thus creates excellent thermal insulation properties. It does not absorb moisture, but conducts it to its surface. It dries 20% faster than other insulating yarns and even 50% faster than cotton. Polyester is the most widely used synthetic fiber in the textile industry.
Synthetic polypropylene fibers are popular for their resistance to bacteria and antibacterial effects. Polypropylene fabrics have low absorbency and sweat is easily removed from the skin. Abrasion resistance and resistance to dirt are also good. The disadvantages are easy creasing and shape instability.
Elastane is a synthetic material that gives your clothes flexibility and elasticity. Thanks to the elastane, the clothes hold their shape and do not pull out so easily. Clothing with elastane easily adapts to the shape of your body. Elastane also appears on the market under various trade names, such as Lycra or Spandex.
