Organic Content Standard (OCS) is a voluntary certification program that verifies the organic status of products. The OCS Blended Certification Program allows manufacturers to certify products that are made with a blend of certified organic and non-organic ingredients. This program provides flexibility for manufacturers who want to use certified organic ingredients, while still being able to source some ingredients from conventional sources. The OCS Blended Certification Program has two tiers: Tier 1 and Tier 2. To qualify for Tier 1 certification, at least 95% of the product’s content must be certified organic. For Tier 2 certification, at least 70% of the product’s content must be certified organic. Products that are certified under the OCS Blended Certification Program can use the OCS logo on their packaging. In addition, these products will be listed in the online Organic Product Directory, which helps consumers find certified organic products easily and quickly.
